MEEKE BENCHED BY CITROEN
Three rallies ago, the very idea of benching Kris Meeke was laughable. Having won Rally Mexico, he bossed the Tour of Corsica, well on his way to back to back victories when an engine problem halted the C3 WRC in its tracks. Since then Meeke has led two of the last three rallies and set fastest times on all of them. He has also crashed heavily three times and retired once with suspension damage. Last week’s Rally Italy shunt appears to have been the
final straw for the management of the French manufacturer, even if Citroen states Meeke was asked to step down.
