Idomeni, Greece—A woman sits with her child after about 2,000 refugees tried to break open a fence at a makeshift camp at the Greek- Macedonian border on April 7. Macedonian police responded by firing tear gas, rubber bullets and stun grenades, drawing condemnation from Greece. Doctors Without Borders treated about 300 injured refugees, including 200 suffering from respiratory problems from tear gas and 40 wounded by rubber bullets. Twenty-three police officers were wounded.
