1938 Gum Inc. Horrors of War needs little introduction. Visually stunning, gruesome, controversial and historic, it’s one of the most famous sets of trading cards ever produced. An unopened pack sold for $10,028.40 through a Lelands auction that closed on February 1.
A Mint PSA 9, it’s the highest grade a pack has received by the company. But it’s not like there are a lot of them out there. According to the Lelands description, the pack was one of a dozen found from the Fleer archives. Prior to that, no Horrors of War packs were publicly known to exist.
