A ‘fantastic’ total of 106 potential lifesavers joined the Anthony Nolan stem cell donor register at Oban High School on Monday, two years to the day since former pupil Laura Campbell received her transplant.
John Sweeney, watch manager at Oban Community Fire Station, explained: ‘Laura, who is now 18, has suffered from leukaemia three times since she was a child, and in 2016 received a stem cell transplant to treat her condition.
