THE OWNERS of Nancy Blacks chandlery, camping and coastal clothing shop, which closed last week after 50 years of serving customers in Oban’s Argyll Square, have expressed ‘great sadness’ in not being able to save it. ‘Over the past year our sales plummeted and with rising overheads we couldn’t carry on trading,’ they said on Facebook. ‘It was the most difficult decision to make. We would like to thank our amazing staff.’
Last month a second Oban business, the Seafood Temple on Gallanach Road, also closed its doors after seven years ‘due to a change in our circumstances’, the owners said, also thanking their team for their hard work.
