ARGYLL and Bute MSP Michael Russell visited the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) in Dunbeg last Friday to support lecturers who are on strike.
SAMS union members have been striking for the last month over changes to their pension, which could see a typical lecturer £10,000 worse off per year.
Mr Russell, who is a member of the University and College Union, said: ‘The important thing for me is to make sure there’s a recognition for the case of the institution and the people they employ, and to make sure they are back round the table.’ Lecturer Estelle Dumont said: ‘It’s good to get his support.
