THE UIST Economic Taskforce Working Group met on Friday May 11 in Benbecula.
The meeting was addressed by Áki Johansen, representing the Faroese government in the United Kingdom, leading to a wide-ranging discussion that touched on key issues such as digital connectivity, transport strategy, population retention and economic development policy in the Faroe Islands.
The meeting also saw a presentation from Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Hebridean Housing Partnership updating on the affordable housing supply programme and the prospects for new affordable housing activity in Uist.
