OBAN and Lorn Horticultural Society has donated the proceeds from its flower show last year to three worthwhile charities. The committee presented three cheques worth £175 each to Argyll Beats Cardiovascular Disease, the Hope Kitchen and the Oban Mountain Rescue Team at Glencruitten Road Church Hall on Thursday last week. Traditionally money raised from their annual flower show, and the auction of the produce, is given to local causes – in total £5,725 over the past 20 years. This year’s flower show takes place from midday to 4pm on Saturday August 20 at Glencruitten Road Church Hall in Oban.
