A MASTER Builders Lego and Creative Construction Club will hold its first session on Saturday March 31 at The Rockfield Centre (TRC) from 10am till midday.
Run by volunteer Fee Shaw, the club aims to provide a place for families of all ages to meet, build and get creative with Lego and is one of two new additions to the centre’s monthly programme of activities.
Rhona Dougall, TRC arts co-ordinator, said: ‘Building with Lego can be as simple or as complicated as you like, making it accessible to children of all ages and abilities. It is hoped the club will appeal to dads, who can sometimes feel excluded from female-dominated playgroups, as well as to people new to the area whose first language may not be English, enabling them to make connections in the community based around a shared interest. It is also hoped the club will help enthuse girls about building and engineering.’
