THE SCOTTISH Court Service has confirmed an Oban man is out on bail pending appeal against his sentence after he pled guilty to intent to supply amphetamines and possession of cannabis.
Lawrie Campbell, 52, 7 Jura Road, Soroba, Oban, was granted bail on November 16 and was released from jail on temporary bail while the Sheriff Appeal Court assesses his claim. It will take two to three weeks for his case to be reviewed.
Campbell was sentenced to seven months in jail on November 7. He and a co-accused, who also pled guilty, were stopped by police in Oban after a tip off from a witness who said there had been an exchange of a package.
