There were highly dramatic images published in the Lochaber Times back in March following the devastating fire at Ardgour.
At the time, as we reported, there were serious concerns raised by residents of the village about their safety amid stories of failed fire hydrants and the firefighters who attended having to draw water from Loch Linnhe.
The photographs we published appeared to back up the claims from residents, who are understandably worried about the situation and the possibility of a repeat blaze causing similar levels of destruction. That concern has now been investigated by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), which has attempted to allay residents’ fears this week as it said there were no faults with the hydrants at the site.
