THE JACOBITE heritage group Na Fir Dileas – The Loyal Men – marched from Spean Bridge to High Bridge on Sunday to commemorate the first skirmish in the Jacobite Uprising of 1745.
The army of Jacobites walked half a mile from the commando memorial to the ruins of General Wade’s High Bridge – the site of the first shots fired in the Jacobite Rising in August 1745 – wearing full 18th century costume, with banners waving and led by a piper.
