Proud of Argyll and Bute stem cell donors

Sir, A cross-party parliamentary event on stem cell transplantation, supported by blood cancer charity and stem cell register Anthony Nolan, was held on July 18 to celebrate the number of people who are registered as stem cell donors.

In Argyll and Bute, the number of potential stem cell donors registered with Anthony Nolan is 2,139. Some 42 per cent of these donors are male, and the average age is 34.
