ARGYLL and Bute Council’s environmental health team, working with Food Standards Scotland, is issuing a warning on raised levels of shellfish toxins in Loch Striven.
These are naturally occurring toxins which accumulate in shellfish such as mussels, oysters and cockles. When the toxins breach statutory limits, harvesting is not allowed.
