Tom Cullen’s warning of the consequences of reintroducing predators (Letters, The Oban Times, February 22) is the most sensible suggestion I have heard in the sea eagles debate.
As a Norwegian sheep farmer told us at a farmers’ meeting, they lose 16 per cent of their flocks each year to sea eagles and lynx.
There are now 150 breeding pairs on the west coast of Scotland and they are now killing our adult breeding hill ewes and hoggets. They have stripped the hills and moors of wildlife.
