Chief calls for increase in respect for NHS porters

NEW NHS chairman David Alston has issued a call to NHS staff and also members of the public to be more respectful to hospital porters, writes Katie Carabine.

The 50-strong team of porters, which Mr Alston refers to as a ‘vital cog’ in the health service, recently underwent a week-long session to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
