GRIMSAY Community Association (GCA) has received an offer of funding from the Outer Hebrides LEADER programme.
Since acquiring the former mission house, reuniting it in community ownership with the neighbouring centre at Ceann na h-Àirigh (the former Free Church), GCA has been working on plans and funding applications.
The award of £122,234 is a contribution towards community plans for the redevelopment of the site to provide a boat hall to display some of the Grimsay boats and tell the story of the Stewart boatbuilders, which will be the only maritime visitor attraction in the Western Isles.
