JAZZ music will fill the aisles of St John’s Cathedral, Oban, on Sunday March 11 when the Scottish musicia n and composer Colin Steele performs with his quartet of trumpet, saxophone, bass and piano.
Colin has long been ‘an exponent of warmly song-like jazz playing and vivacious jazz-inflected Celtic original themes’ (The Guardian).
Now he has left the fiddles and pipes out of his line-up to focus on core jazz themes but ‘the harmonies are still laced with his trademark Celtic lilt fused with his own gentle tone’ (BBC Music Magazine).
