Can you tell us a bit about your background?

LC: I was born in Australia, then grew up in Malaysia and Scotland.

As a hybrid of my Chinese-Malaysian mother and my Scottish father, I like to think I have inherited the best bits of both of these wonderful cultures and although having settled in Scotland, I still go back to Malaysia every year to visit family.

I gained my BDS with honours at Dundee Dental School in 1996. I then did my VT training in Edinburgh and after several SHO jobs, I carried out my SpR training in Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy, Fife. I completed my research MSc in sleep apnoea and anti-snoring devices in 2002 and then was awarded my MOrth (RCSEd), becoming a specialist orthodontist in 2003.
