My Sporting Times Events

My Sporting Times Events have been arranging swimming events for 10 years now and launched the irst UK Night Swim back in 2013. You'll start under a moonlit sky at 9.45pm in the dusk of midsummer’s night, challenging yourself with either the 750m Half Moon or 1500m Full Moon Swims. You'll be issued with glowsticks as you tackle the course marked with well-lit swim buoys, supported by our fabulous water safety team

Another ‘irst’ is he Humdinger Swim – a different type of endurance swim event and a very simple concept – how many 1km laps can you swim in six hours? Take on the challenge as a solo swimmer, or as part of a relay team.

The swim will start at 3pm and the number of completed laps at the chime of 9pm will be recorded. Live updates of progress throughout the swim will be on a big screen at lakeside, with a real party atmosphere with music, food available, party games and some fun competitions.

About Outdoor Swimmer

Swim into Spring! We are very excited this issue to welcome Keri-anne Payne, Olympic silver medallist and double 10k open water world champion, as our guest coach. She joins Cassie Patten, our regular Olympian contributor, to bring you top training and technique advice to get you fitter and faster in the open water this summer. We also have training session ideas using all four strokes, advice to help you overcome negative thoughts on race day and the ultimate guide to wetsuit care and maintenance. And in our Gear pages this issue we test a full range of open water swimming wetsuits. As ever we have the most comprehensive UK and international event listings to help you plan your summer swims.
