Autumn swept in on an Atlantic gale today, flooding the becks with cool rain and rustling the leaves in the trees, now on their way to copper, bronze and golden shades. It is time to go high; I’ve had enough of big lakes and long distances and company. I’m craving solitude and the intensity of a cold swim deep within my beloved mountains.
