Dianne finishing the Dee Mile

On 22 June this year I had to abandon my English Channel attempt after 2hrs 35mins because my husband became desperately unwell on the boat. We were both so disappointed but Grahame’s health was the most important thing and he has now made a full recovery.

I raised over £5700 for my two special charities – Diabetes UK and Parkinsons UK – and even though my supporters told me that it didn’t matter I didn’t complete my challenge I was determined to justify the amount raised by taking on two marathon swims just three-and-a-half weeks apart!
