Parchment Craft  |  September 2012
If you’re looking for cards and designs with a nature feel to them, look no further. We begin this issue with a card from one of your favourite designers,Dorothy Holness. Her traditional looking card features a white worked honeysuckle and a coloured 3D butterfly, set against a vibrant insert which instantly lifts the detailing of the white work.
The last project is also butterfly themed, though it’s slightly different and somewhat unusual to what is usually featured in the magazine. In essence, it’s a portable coffee tumbler, which has been designed to allow the owner to insert a design into it. Submitted by Jen Ni Lai, her butterfly design is made up of two layers, the top layer featuring a procession of coloured butterflies, with cut work detailing which allows the intricacies on the bottom sheet to shine through the perspex tumbler.
Besides beautiful butterflies, you’ll also find designs which feature white worked flowers and coloured animals, all of which will keep you busy.
