0 Reviews   •  English   •   Hobbies & Crafts (Sewing & Knitting)
The July 2016 issue of Popular Patchwork is packed full of fresh new quilting ideas and afternoon reads. On the cover is Summer Starburst, a dramatic and colourful quilt designed by Judith Hollies. It is surprisingly easy to make and perfect for making a dent in your scrap pile. If you are a tennis fan then you won’t want to miss Grand Slam. Designed by Ruth Lazarus, this fun quilt features pieced racquets and tennis dresses. We also have lots more quilts for summer, including Sara Jaskiewicz’s scrap bag playmat, and Mandy Munroe’s fresh and modern throw. If you would like to get your sewing supplies organised then Debbie von Grabler-Crozier’s bumper needle book and Kerry Foster’s flower ruler case are just the makes for you.

With the summer holidays nearly upon us Caroline Gration shares her advice and tips for sewing with children, and Anita Watson-Jackson's Fantastic Freddy Fox is a perfect summer make for children (although adults will want to make him too!).

We have all our usual regular reads too. In Finishing School Suzanne Fisher shows you how to finish a quilt with a scalloped edge, in Let’s Visit we take a tour of Chipping Norton, and in Meet the… we say hello to Michael Newman, who is using tech to bring quilting labels into the 21st century. With an interview with the founder of Clothkits and a tour of the new Missoni exhibition this is an issue you won’t want to miss!
