Hollie Grant shares her tips for counteracting the effects of a sedentary job
Set an alarm
When working at a desk all day, it’s easy to not notice that you haven’t moved for hours. Set an alarm to go off every hour and stand up or move around.
Do desk downdog
Stand up with your feet hip-distance apart and about two feet away from your desk. Put your hands on your desk and, with straight legs, fold forwards and bring your nose towards the floor, effectively folding your body in half. This will stretch out the back of your legs, across your chest and your back.
