Mindful wellness

Seasonal contentment awaits with a gentle practice for body acceptance, post-workout fatigue remedies, a yoga pose for gratitude plus full permission to indulge in coffee and chocolate

ANSWER YOU

Learning to live in a state of flow, with fewer ups and downs, is one intention of mindfulness practice – but finding equanimity requires self-compassion; opening our hearts towards ourselves. How does that work when it comes to listening to your body? You’ve learned how to listen to what your body is asking for, but are you reacting or responding to it? Injury? Bloating? Low energy? What is your answer to your body’s call? Can you practise compassion to find flow; more response and balance – to begin to cruise, rather than bob and jolt with every movement? Let’s find flow this month.

MOVEMENT MEDITATION

TRY THIS to connect body and mind: Stand tall and still. Imagine your mind as a pool of water. Drop a question into it in the form of a pebble: ‘How do I feel in my body today? Observe the answers that arrive; like ripples on the surface. Gently swing your arms from side to side for three minutes, creating bigger ripples. Then be still. Drop the question again: ‘How do I feel in my body?’ Is there a difference? @aliroff
