Until I had my children, I had never had any problems with hormones. I’ve always been a positive, optimistic and resilient person. Then, in 2003, I had my daughter and, 18 months later, my son. It was di_ cult and stressful but I didn’t find that I was depressed or hormonal.

However, a year or so later, I started to find things tough. I thought perhaps I simply wasn’t feeling fulfilled, being on maternity leave from my law career, so I decided to go back to my job – but it didn’t help in the long term.
