After the introspective winter, spring is welcome for its hours of sunlight, the hopeful colour of da odils and seasonal yield of food. It also brings the spring equinox and renewal of the earth’s life energy. The equinox, the moment the sun moves above the equator, signals an energy shift that is also a chance to rejuvenate our biorhythms. Shedding the dark days of winter makes you feel physically and emotionally lighter, but it is still a time for tenderness and gentle movement before the high-octane energy of summer.
Spring is my preferred time for a cleansing regime, recommended in naturopathic medicine; a way of lightening the load on the body, and supporting cellular regeneration using seasonal produce and cooking methods. This month and next, I’ll share my foundation tips for a cleanse; 28 days is the optimum time, but anything over a week is better than nothing. Most of all:€listen to you, be kind, go slow, and with warmth. wildnutrition.com;@WildNutrition
