It has taught us about the natural proclivities and responses of our bodies; to see that this world is unfeasibly frenzied and pressurised, and not how we want to live. It also illuminates who we are, as deeply complex individuals, in a way that lays a basis for lifelong self-love and respect. Once we understand why we are the way we are (our prakruti; the innate body and character ‘type’ we are born with), many things – from a fiery temper to a hearty appetite – begin to make sense.
