Shane Peacock and Nimbus Publishing relaunch the author’s popular Dylan Maples series



WHEN SHANE PEACOCK found himself with an idea for a new instalment in his Dylan Maples adventure series of middle-grade novels, he was faced with a small problem: the popular books, originally published by Penguin between 1999 and 2003, had been out of print for a decade. Each book featured 12-year-old Dylan Maples visiting a different province and embarking on an adventure based around little-known Canadian history or geography. The series was a favourite of Peacock’s, built, as it was, on his theory that Canada is an unusual place. “I say to kids, one of the ways you know we’re weird is that we pretend we’re not.”
