Another feature packed issue that sees the penultimate instalment of Lance Campbell's SR-71 Blackbird build. Lance finally gets to use his home-made moulds to manufacture an aircraft and carry out those all important test flights. Remaining in the USA, Jorge Escalona gives us an insight into the construction and preparation of his beautiful Airworld Hawker Hunter, built with numerous scale alterations and additions for competition flying.
Serge Bordais continues construction of his new Christen Diffusion Sukhoi S-54, featuring a vectored thrust system. Dave Swarbrick starts work on a Flyeaglejet MiG-29 (twin engine version) finished in an eye-catching German Luftwaffe colour scheme. Colin Straus works on his giant scale Meteor F.8 with construction and fitting of some specially made composite airbrakes.
For those interested in EDF powered aircraft, Roger McCormick installs the latest Schubeler DS-77 unit in a T-38 Talon with pleasing results.
On the show front we visit Florida Jets, held at Lakeland, near Orlando along with Australia's Temora Jets. The grand occasion of Classic Jets 50th meet at the former RAF Abingdon is featured with a pictorial report and includes an insight from organiser Dick Spreadbury into the behind the scenes preparation for such an event. Finally, World Champion pilot, Steve Elias takes an in-depth look at Futaba's all-new flagship transmitter, the 18MZ.
