Lima is a monster of a city, brutal yet beautiful. The buildings are perched on the edge of cliffs looking east over the waters of the vast Pacific. The latter is the largest and most powerful ocean in the world and it is no coincidence that the first ever Surfing World Championship was held along this coast back in the 60’s. The ocean runs free for over 5,000 miles, sucking the energy of dozens of storms into deep ocean swell before they stand up to crash with supreme violence into the arid cliffs of Lima.
