With less than a year to go before the Rio Olympics, the world’s most successful rowing club is setting out its vision for the next three years.
For Leander, which has occupied a prominent position on the riverbank at Henley since 1896, the club’s bicentenary in 2018 will be the culmination of a period of intense activity, both on and off the water.
Next year’s Games will be followed by an ambitious charity-driven plan to row down the lower reaches of the Zambezi in 2017. And with their bicentenary comes the opportunity for Leander members all over the world to celebrate the club’s success during the last 200 years.
