Scott Frandsen

Why rowing?

I fell in love with rowing very quickly once I realised the direct correlation between hard work and results. Put in more miles and train harder than your competition and there is a good chance you will win. I could do that.

Your greatest moment in rowing?

My greatest moment is probably the pairs final in Beijing where Dave [Calder] and I won the silver. But my favourite moment or favourite race has to be Lucerne 2008 where we surprised a lot of people, shot out to a solid lead, and hung on to win against pairs that hadn’t been beaten in three years. We thought we could be fast but that race confirmed what we had hoped and sent us into the Beijing Olympics as legitimate medal contenders. The commentary is priceless as well.
