Injury is a worst-case scenario for any athlete. Time away from training means missed opportunity.

The importance of nutrition, both in accelerating recovery and preventing it from happening in the first place is often overlooked. All athletes want to speed up their recovery rate with the goal of returning to training as soon as they can, but there is no magic bullet for a quick recovery.

A minor injury which will resolve itself within a week requires no real nutritional or dietary changes. But if recovery will take longer, then the following nutritional recommendations could help. But first…
