Sinkovic Brothers
Martin Sinkovic and Valent Sinkovic photographed sculling during simpler times at a training session in Jarun, Zagreb last October. 2020 has been a particularly challenging year for the charismatic Croatian brothers after a successful 2019 season concluded with the world title in Linz last summer.
On March 22, 2020, as their home city of Zagreb entered lockdown, a powerful earthquake shook the Croation capital. It was the largest to strike the region in over 140 years, leaving a sea of devastation in its wake. Ever-upbeat, the brothers reassured their fans, posting on social media shortly afterwards: “Two massive earthquakes hit our hometown Zagreb…as if COVID-19 wasn’t enough We are safe, hope all of you also is! Take care, STAY STRONG and follow the instructions. We are in this together and we will win this together.”
