Avoiding Rib Stress Injuries

The individual postural and mechanical deficiencies and differences in the body; those of the spine, pelvis, lower limbs, shoulders and ribs, must be acknowledged and understood to plan pre-emptive solutions to injury risk. We ended our last article on Rib Stress Injuries (RSI’s) and stress fractures with this sentiment and following it gives the best chance of reducing the mechanical risk factors, in combination with with equipment and load considerations.

At BAT Logic we are very focused on the idea of prevention – it’s a lot easier and more effective to prevent an injury or reduce a risk factor than to rest and rehab an injured athlete. Injury and performance are often spoken of as separates but the worst loss to performance you can have is to be injured and in most cases a reduction of injury risk can yield improved mechanics for performance.
