WILD GREYS FOR YOUR DIY SHOOT
Once there were millions but now there are just a few. Not only has our native grey partridge declined dramatically in the past one hundred years, but it has gone completely from many areas. In the 1930s, when the Eley cartridge company set up what is now the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT), grey partridges were the most common game bird, though even then part of the mission was to stem an early decline. So what went wrong? Well, if our native wild grey partridge population is to bounce back, land managers need to make the most of everything they have to hand.
