Back in the late sixties, London was the place to be for music. With musicians like Clapton, Page, Beck and Gilmour all vying for supremacy at every gig and on every recording, the fiercely competitive music scene fed back into itself and the whole movement was propelled towards excellence. Now, with those guitar heroes celebrating their 70th birthdays, we look to see who the guitar heroes of the future (or even the present) will be. And while a few have appeared in the meantime, there still seems to be no one to take their places on the podium. No one is setting the world alight like those pioneers from the sixties and seventies.
