The Searcher  |  March 2022
What’s new in this issue?
On the cover this month we have the only sixth known example of an Edward III gold leopard which is excessively rare and of major numismatic significance. Another highlight is a rare Anglo Saxon great square-headed brooch, sadly damaged by the plough found by Robert Turrell. John Rebman’s recounts finding a superb Post Medieval gold swivel seal ring and Adam Staples shares his research on the ring’s history. There’s also another Bronze Age hoard found on a Woburn Detecting Store dig and also a fantastic double-headed Roman silver rarity discovered by young Paddy Hooper. There are two field tests this month that look at the new Deus II from XP and the new Atrex by RUTUS. Gordon Heritage looks at understanding Iron Bias on the Equinox and explains how you can use these features to better effect.
