Total FlyFisher  |  February 2017

Welcome to the February issue of TFF, which will get your fly fishing year going in the right direction.
Judging by the emails we’ve received and the posts and messages on the TFF Facebook page many of you have been out and about in search of the Lady Of The Stream. So for those of you who want to make the most of the last few months of the grayling season we bring you three features from some of the top river anglers out there.
The Grayling Society’s Kris Kent shares the venues and tactics for targeting BIG grayling as he visits the River Frome in search of a 3lb fish. Clark Colman potters into town in search of the urban grayling, whilst river fishing addict and Wychwood consultant Glen Pointon travels to Wales to fish a ‘Hidden Gem’.
On the stillwater scene Tom Doc Sullivan tackles the stunning sonaghan from Lough Melvin whilst Agent X drops in at Broad Oak Trout Lakes in Worcestershire.
We bring you the EXCLUSIVE first look at the Daphnia Fritz from the guys at Frozen North Fly Fishing as Scottish international angler Kevin Porteous reveals this new material. This material will bring your flies into the 21st century. We also take a trip down memory lane as David Heseltine looks back at the Dog Nobbler, the ‘king of the lures’ with fly tying legend Sid Knight.
As always we bring some something a little bit different and this month in no different. Ben Bangham takes on the lean green fighting machines as he shows you how easy it is to catch pike on the fly from the canal. This is a growing area of our sport and is something we can do with very little outlay for just a few hours at the weekend.
For those of you planning your next fly fishing adventure might want to consider Los Roques, Venezuela as GAIA instructor Andy Smith takes on its powerful bonefish.
We also have our regular fly tying guides and over 30 flies for

Could Be Better Reviewed Saturday, 9 March 2013
The magazine is about the best out there, I like wild fishing and for me there's too heavy a focus on stocked waters and bright bushy flies but they do feature wild waters, natural flies, coarse fish on the fly and the occasional salt water fly fishing spread, I've even seen some tenkara articles.

I really wish the mag would move away from the stockie bashing and feature more wild fishing. Being the best of a bad bunch isn't much to shout about but there you go!

Full of amazing shots, nteresting articles and always manages to teach me something every month with expert fly-tying.
