When Cross-dressers Do Drag

Since starting ‘Style Me Quirky’ (the transgender dressing-service that walks on the wild side of cross-dressing) in 2009, I’ve noticed an ever increasing demand in my transvestite/ cross-dresser clients wanting to ‘do Drag’.

‘Drag’: ‘to wear the clothes normally associated with the opposite gender.’

That definition sounds more like cross-dressing to me. Which I would define as being:

‘Cross-dressing’: ‘to wear the clothes normally associated with the opposite gender and to attempt a natural, realistic, convincing, feminine appearance.’

So ‘Drag’ is closer to an abbreviation of ‘Drag queen’. Personally I think ‘Drag’ covers the trashy middle-ground of being a bit more dramatic, experimental and creative than the average ‘cross-dresser look’, but not in the same league as true Drag queens like RuPaul, Lady Bunny or Lily Savage with their huge wigs and professional entertainment acts.
