The fight to protect Africa’s wildlife has been boosted dramatically by harnessing technology, reports Emma Gregg.

Ted Schmitt, business development manager at Paul G Allen Philanthropies, the conservation wing of Seattle-based technology company Vulcan Inc, was speaking at the 2018 Tusk Conservation Lecture at the Royal Geographic Society in London. The timing was poignant. Just a few days earlier, Microsoft co-founder Allen, who created Vulcan, had died at the age of 65.
