Passionate vegan chef, Lauren Lovatt, and founder of the newly opened Plant Academy (planthub.net) in East London, explores the oferings of the cultural centrepiece of Bali. She chats to us about the best places to eat, drink, shop and stay. Bali is a truly magical Indonesian island, held in calm spirituality by the grounding of the Balinese people. Over the years the island has evolved, as the rest of the planet has come to realise its otherworldly charm — but, when you settle into the laid-back rhythm of its wonder, there really is no better place to go on your own journey, deeper into the world of plants, than Bali.
I was lucky enough to spend some time there this year with the Alchemy Academy (alchemyacademybali.com), developing and teaching their advanced raw food course. Alchemy Restaurant was the first raw food mecca to open in Ubud, which is now a melting pot for plant-based, high vibe eateries. The Alchemy Academy opened just last year, teaching pioneering raw food classes to students from all over the world, and where I have taken inspiration from to bring back to The Plant Academy.
