Vintage Roadscene  |  Jun-22
Road transport nostalgia at its best. This month, the major photographic feature, ‘Scenes Past’ shows vehicles which delivered to and from high street shops. Mobile libraries of different types are also features, along with some classic fire engines of the 1970s and more on light vans of the 1960s-‘90s, with Bond three-wheelers and Citroens. We have another dip into the files of the well-known transport journalist, Pat Kennett, founder of ‘Truck’ magazine in the 1970s. More pictures of the products of a mystery London bodybuilder, John M Cross, and a final instalment of Leicester’s Lorries, plus some ‘end of life’ buses in scrapyards show a wide variety of vehicles of the past. The scene is completed by some pictures from recent vehicle rallies and readers’ letters. A feast of cotemporary pictures of commercial vehicles of many types.
