LET’S TRY THE PUMPS
Our series of articles on the cooling system continues: now we want to verify how the water pumps for karts actually behave, through a speciallymade test bench.

WATER PUMPS 1
Since we started discussing the cooling system of karts, in our track tests, it has been a continuous succession of discoveries and often of surprises. In short, at least for they are produced for karts, the liquid cooling presents many “gray” areas that emerged in full evidence as soon as we managed to measure more accurately than usual, thanks to the help Officine in Progress provided us in this area. At a certain point, after the various sessions on the track that constituted our series of winter tests, we clearly had to bench test the components of the cooling system, starting from the water pumps.
Small problem: there are no such test benches (or at least they are not available). But did you think this was enough to stop us? Obviously not. So, we thought hard on how such a device could be set up, and these first ideas were better organized and finally put into practice by OiP, or more specifically by Andrea Saccucci. How this happened, we shall see better and more in detail in the specific box.
