OK Patterson, a cut above the rest
The weekend at OUEST Karting started immediately with a surprise: Dexter Patterson’s pole position. The 2017 OKJ World Champion, after a long time spent in Forza Racing, showed up in France in the team led by Dino Chiesa to score the best time with just over a tenth ahead of Harry Thompson.
Already on Friday it looked like it was going to be a special weekend due to Hannes Janker in P14 and Pedro Hiltbrand in P35. With the two title challengers forced to play catch-up and a duo charging at the head of the pack, the premises for a spectacular finale were all set. Patterson then confirmed his form in the heats, turning out to be the only one with zero penalties, and took five of the five rounds run. Decisive for the assignment of pole position was the last clash before the Finals where the groupings of Patterson and Thompson faced off. On this occasion, Patterson added another piece to his final success since, after running second at the start, he immediately recovered the head of the race against a Thompson who then dropped to fifth place.
