MODENA ENGINES DOUBLES!

THANKS TO THE COLLABORATION WITH DR KART, MODENA ENGINES HAS DOUBLED ITS COMMITMENT BY PRESENTING TWO VERY INTERESTING ENGINES FOR THE NEW 2019- 2021 HOMOLOGATION: THE KK2 FOR THE GEARBOX CLASSES AND THE SINGLE-SPEED ME-K AND ME-KJ FOR THE OK.

Modena Engines, in collaboration with DR Kart, which takes care of its development and sales, has homologated engines for categories KZ and OK Junior and Senior for the three-year period 2019 - 2021.

The close relationship between Modena Engines and DR Kart has come to fruition with several new products. After the evolutions previously carried out on the existing engines for the gearbox categories, the two companies have produced 2 new units for the 2019 – 2021 homologation. The most important news is certainly the debut in the single-speed classes with the OK engines, both in Junior and Senior versions. Confirmed, after the excellent results thus far obtained, the commitment in the gearbox categories with a completely redesigned engine taking advantage of the experiences gathered from the previous homologation. The synergy between Modena Engines and DR Kart sees the former involved in the construction of the various engine components, while the second takes care of the development, prototyping, final assembly and sales and marketing of the engines. Thanks to new technologies adopted and implemented, including the widespread use of 3D printers, it has allowed the manufacturers to move from design to prototype in a matter of days, speeding up development work and defining the main standards of the new engines, quickly ready to compete on the track against what is fierce competition. Let’s now go into detail by analyzing these 2 new units.

PALMARES CIK-FIA
THE CIK FIA TITLES ASSIGNED
On the eve of the 2018 season, the odds or predictions did not let foresee any one team dominate, but the circus’ attention was, above all, concentrated on the new Dino Chiesa brand. With the conquest of the world title and the continental title, the eminent team manager is preparing to complicate the lives of the two brands that have divided the most important Cik Fia titles among themselves for the past twenty years. Even the geared class highlighted what was unusual uncertainty, producing results in some ways surprising, so different between the European championship and the world championship. Although the Dino Chiesa team sponsored by Nico Rosberg has displaced or upset the whole sector a bit, the Otk group has conquered the two most important titles in KZ, i.e., the KZ world championship and the KZ2 International Super Cup. CRG has had to settle, so to speak, for the KZ European Championship, together with Tm that has also emerged on top in the European KZ2.
SUPERKART
SUPERKART SCARY!
David Coulthard, the former Formula One driver, after trying a Superkart said, “One of the scariest things I’ve ever had to deal with.” Not that the Scottish driver has ever lacked for anything in his racing life: from accidents on the track to a plane crash from which he miraculously emerged alive. Yet, the experience on board these small cars capable of reaching speeds well above 200 km / h has truly remained impressed upon him.
LEGENDARY KART
DIETER VOKINGER AND HIS SWISS HUTLESS
The German Taifun kart was very successful at the end of the sixties and at the beginning of the seventies, so much so, that many kart manufacturers at that time were influenced by the shape of the Fritz Schöfer design hoping that their chassis, if made to resemble the Taifun, would perform in a similar manner to the successful kart constructed by Fritz and his two sons in Feldmoching near Munich.
