Karting Fair: in Italy, once again!

The idea of an Exhibition dedicated to karting takes root in our peninsula once again, namely: the Karting Expò of Adria, with its first edition taking place last month thanks to the personal commitment of Danilo Rossi.

We were not overly astonished that one of the most felt initiatives in our environment - the organization of a Fair dedicated to karting - came precisely from Danilo Rossi. In fact, the former multi-titled driver is still active from other points of view, both as a chassis manufacturer and in the field of engines, and now also as a promoter. Thanks to his commitment, the first edition of the Karting Expò was celebrated last month in Adria, something that was missing in a country that is the cradle of this sport, at least from the production standpoint, after the end of a similar event at Montichiari.

«The idea began to turn around in my head a couple of years ago - Danilo Rossi told us - but I had to set it aside because of other commitments. Then at the beginning of this year I wanted to take it back, because I think it’s right to have something in Italy that allows everyone to make themselves better known. Even the smallest and not just in the field of karting».

The Adria circuit hosted this event, offering advantages and disadvantages: if on the one hand it is not very easy to reach the track, a little lost or tucked away in Polesine, on the other hand having both the international outdoor kart and indoor pavilion available allowed visitors to try some of the proposed vehicles on the track, both racing and rental. «About 200 people tried the karts made available on the international track, and more or less as many in the indoor one», Rossi confirmed. Not to mention the great “hangar” that covers the Adria paddock and that provided 8,000 square meters of exhibition space, exploited almost entirely together with the pits. A good result considering, too, the cold days of the beginning of December, and in fact a point that was underscored regarding to the period chosen for the event. But, as Danilo explains, “the real problem is that with the current calendars we do not have a large availability of dates», hence the the need to adapt in a season that by now goes from January to December inclusive (and this is a another problem we will discuss in our columns).
