The first all-female series is therefore about to officially begin. before their debut on the track, however, all the protagonists will return to the wheel of the Tatuus F-318 in Lausitzring (Germany) from 14 to 16 April for the last tests.
WHO ARE THE PROGONISTS?
The 18 drivers who will race in the first all-women’s series were chosen by the series director Dave Ryan and announced by the ever-present David Coulthard. “This was a more difficult selection process than we could have ever imagined in terms of field performance,” said the former F1 driver. “The learning curve was really impressive to see, and it is absolutely what we wanted to see in those who have relatively little experience in singleseaters, but have a natural speed. This represents today a great step forward towards the fulfillment of the project. I think that everyone in the W Series can be proud of their contribution in putting these drivers on the track!”
What is useful to remember is that many of the women on the track were old friends from the karting world. From Beitske Visser, winner in the international arena, Marta Garcia, present in the European Championship until last year, Saber Cook, winner in America, through to Vicky Piria, Esmee Hawkey, Gosia Rdest, Fabienne Wohlwend and others!
